Pioneer Theatre Company, Utah Food Bank and Wells Fargo to announce holiday food drive and upcoming holiday musical

Pioneer Theatre Company, the Utah Food Bank and Wells Fargo will hold a joint Press Reception on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. There will be a meet-and-greet with cast and artistic staff of The Christmas Carol: The Musical, and representatives of Wells Fargo and the Utah Food Bank will announce the launch of a holiday food drive targeted at theatre patrons.

Members of the press will have an opportunity for pictures and interviews, and then are invited to a press-only live rehearsal of a segment from the musical, which can be filmed for broadcast.

A Christmas Carol: The Musical is the musical version of the holiday classic that played to sold-out audiences at Madison Square Garden for ten years. This will be PTC’s first time performing this production. Other works by composer Alan Menken, such as Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and Aladdin, are familiar to Utah audiences.

The 33-member cast includes JAMIE JACKSON as Ebenezer Scrooge, who appeared off-Broadway in The 39 Steps and in the national tour of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels; KEVIN EARLEYas Bob Cratchit, after appearing on Broadway in Les Misérables, Thoroughly Modern Millie andA Tale of Two Cities; GERRY McINTYRE as The Ghost of Christmas Present, the role he played at Madison Square Garden the last three years with Tim Curry, Jim Dale and F. Murray Abraham. KAREN AZENBERG, PTC Artistic Director and President of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, directs and choreographs the production.
