Auditions for the Pioneer Theatre Company 2007-2008 Season Finale, The Producers, will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2008, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Friday, January 18, 2008, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Callbacks are scheduled for Saturday, January 19, 2008; that time will be announced.

There will be AEA (Equity)-only auditions from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, and from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, but AEA members can sign up for any time slot. Non-Equity auditioners may audition from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18. Auditions will be held in Room 245 at the Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. All auditioners must sign up for a time on the callboard in Room 325 at the Roy W. and Elizabeth E. Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. The sign-up sheet will be posted by noon on Monday, January 7, 2008.

The first audition will be singing only; an accompanist will be provided. Auditioners should prepare an audition song from a traditional Broadway musical score. A photo and resume are recommended. Scripts may be checked out on an overnight basis from the theatre offices located in room 325 at Simmons PMT.

Rehearsal dates for the production are Thursday, March 27, 2008 – Thursday, April 24, 2008; performance dates are April 25, 2008 – May 10, 2008. Charles Morey will direct, Patti D’Beck will choreograph, and Andrew Bryan will be the Musical Director.

Casting for The Producers includes roles for 6 principal characters, and 20 chorus members, men and women over the age of 18. This is the Mel Brooks musical based on his 1968 film of the same name.
