Synopsis: A song-and dance musical celebration of the life of Will Rogers, the legendary American cowboy, humorist, and entertainer. Ziegfield showgirls, lasso rope trick artists, choruses of tap-dancing cowboys and showgirls all enliven this revue of Rogers’ life, which won the Tony Award for Best Musical and Best Score in 1991.
For Which Audiences? The Will Rogers Follies is an old-fashioned glitzy American musical suitable for all general audiences, including children aged five and older. Other than costumes which will certainly show off the Ziegfield chorus girls’ (and boys’) figures, there is nothing in the show that would not be suitable for all audiences.
Rating: If it were a movie, The Will Rogers Follies would be rated PG.
