Policies

Ticket Exchanges

Single Ticket buyers may exchange tickets for another performance of the same play by calling the box office at least 48 hours prior to the performance date and paying a $5.00 per ticket fee.

Season Ticket Holders and Pass Holders may exchange their tickets for another performance of the same play at no cost (except if there is an increase in the price) by calling the box office at least 48 hours prior to the performance date. Subsequent changes for that production will be subject to a $5 per ticket fee.

Tickets are non-refundable.

Ticket Donations

You may donate your tickets, helping yourself and Pioneer Theatre Company. If you are unable to attend a production, make a tax-deductible gift of your tickets so that we may re-sell them. Call the Box Office prior to the performance.

Children

Children under five years of age are not permitted in the theatre.

Electronic Devices

Please turn off all electronics. Wristwatch alarms and cellular phones must be turned off (not simply set to “vibrate” or “silent”) in the theatre. Even if silent, cellular phones can interfere with our wireless equipment. If you might be paged or need to be reached during a performance, please leave your exact seat location with the Box Office. The number for emergency calls is 801-581-6963.

Texting is particularly disturbing to performers and your fellow patrons. Please do not send or receive texts during any performance.

Recorders and cameras are not allowed at any performance.

Smoking is not allowed in any University building.

Curtain Time

Evening performances begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Saturday matinees are at 2:00 p.m., but please check your ticket, or with the box office, as occasionally, start times do change. Please avoid arriving after curtain. To avoid disturbing other patrons, latecomers will not be seated until a scene or act change, and may not be seated in their assigned seats until intermission. This policy has been instituted at the request of many of our patrons.

Seating Charts

Lees Main Stage at the Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre

Pioneer Theatre Company performs on the Lees Main Stage, a 932-seat proscenium theatre in the Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. The theatre is divided into 3 sections—Main Floor, Loge and Balcony.

The Main Floor and Loge have no center aisle—an arrangement referred to as “Continental Seating.” Because of this, these two sections have excellent leg room.

The Meldrum Theatre at the Einar Nielsen Fieldhouse

In March 2024, PTC will inaugurate a new venue: the Meldrum Theatre at the Einar Nielsen Fieldhouse. The Meldrum, a mid-size theatre with 380 seats and a thrust stage, will offer a more intimate theatregoing experience for contemporary pieces and new works.

Gift Certificates

A perfect gift for:

Christmas, Birthdays, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Anniversaries, Weddings…or say thanks to a friend or a valued employee.

When you give the gift of live theatre, you’re not just giving someone the chance to watch a play or musical; you’re offering them the opportunity to embark on a journey of emotions, stories, and characters that come alive on stage. The magic of live performance is a remarkable gift that lingers long after the final curtain falls.

Looking for additional gift options, or specific seats to a particular show? Consider tickets to one of our current season productions.

Purchase gift certificates online or call the Box Office at 801-581-6961—and we will mail the gift certificate to you, or directly to your friends or family.
